Bina T. Dagar, Founder and President |
| Bina T. Dagar founded Ameya Consulting, LLC., a certified minority- and female-owned company, in 2004. Ameya is a service provider focused on financial, environmental and government markets. Prior to her new venture, Bina worked for more than 20 years in the reinsurance industry with Munich Re, CIGNA, SCOR Re and Everest Re. She has more than 15 years of international experience, conducting business in the reinsurance sector in Europe, Africa and the Caribbean.. |
| Born in India, Bina completed her high school in Guam, “where America’s day begins” and moved to the East Coast for further education. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree magna cum laude in English and South Asian Studies from the University of Pennsylvania and holds a Certificate in Reinsurance from the College of Insurance/St. John’s University. She is also a certified arbitrator with AIDA/ARIAS-U.S. and is listed on the Reinsurance Association of America’s directory of arbitrators. Bina provides pro bono auditing services to the New Jersey Arbitration Forums. |
| Since 2005, Bina has been an active member of the Ethics Committee of ARIAS-U.S., which, on an ongoing basis, evaluates the Code of Conduct for Arbitrators and interprets the Guidelines in practical terms. She currently chairs the Ethics’ Annotations subcommittee. |
| Bina also serves on the Board of Advisors of the Association of Professional Insurance Women (APIW) in New York. In addition, she actively participates on the APIW’s Communications Committee and Board of Directors Committee. In 2006, Bina received the President’s Circle award from APIW in recognition of outstanding contributions made to the Association. |
| Bina is an active participant in the Publications Committee with the Association of Insurance and Reinsurance Run-off Companies (AIRROC). |
| Bina has authored technical articles in insurance industry trade journals and has been a speaker at various industry events. |
| Bina lives in New Jersey with her husband, Mahavir, and their daughters, Karishma and Pooja. |
